While ADHD is often associated with more visible hyperactive or disruptive behaviours, evidence suggests it can be less readily recognised in girls and women. Guidance notes from NICE  (National Institute for Health and Care Excellence) state ADHD is thought to be under-recognised in girls and women, who may be less likely to be referred for assessment, more likely to have undiagnosed ADHD and more likely to receive an incorrect diagnosis of another mental health or neurodevelopmental condition.¹ Research has also identified factors that may contribute to ADHD being overlooked in females, including less overt symptoms, gender bias and strategies used to mask or compensate for difficulties.²

Across six weeks, the campaign will explore why ADHD in women can be overlooked, the potential impact of missed or delayed diagnoses and the ways ADHD can affect different areas of life.

Living360 will publish a series of in-depth digital features covering key themes including:

  • ADHD and the menstrual cycle
  • Identity,self-esteemand wellbeing
  • Barriers to diagnosis
  • Treatment options
  • Practical advice and resources
  • Helpful product roundups
  • What needs to change

The campaign will bring together expert insight from leading researchers and ADHD specialists alongside lived experiences from women sharing their own journeys. It will also feature interviews with notable figures who have spoken publicly about ADHD, including health and wellness speaker BBC broadcaster  and creator

As part of the campaign, Living360 will also be inviting people across the UK to share their experiences and perceptions of ADHD in women through a dedicated survey.

The survey is open to everyone, with or without an ADHD diagnosis. It aims to build a clearer picture of awareness and understanding of ADHD in women, and its impact on both personal and working lives. The findings will help shape the campaign’s editorial direction, ensuring the content addresses the questions, experiences and concerns that matter most to its audience.

Katie Sipp-Hurley, project editor at Living360, said: “At a time when women are increasingly finding their voice and speaking openly about their experiences of ADHD, our aim for this campaign is to shine a light on how it can affect women throughout their lives —&Բ;and why better access to appropriate assessment and diagnosis.

“I hope that bringing together practical advice and lived experience will provide useful and empowering information for those who are navigating ADHD, considering whether they have it or for those supporting someone who does.”

Anna Evdokimou, editor of Living360, said: “From our campaign on menopause to our investigation into how the menstrual cycle impacts fitness, Living360 has consistently championed women’s health. This latest campaign continues that focus, providing women across the UK with information to help them feel better understood and supported, while highlighting where change is still needed in workplaces and the healthcare system.”

MeetP. LouiseCosmeticsfounder,CEOand creative directorPaige Louise Williams, Living360’s digital cover star for September /p-louise-paige-louise-williams-living360s-digital-september-cover-star/ Fri, 11 Sep 2026 13:30:00 +0000 /?p=14990 Paige Louise Williams used a loan from her grandmother to start what’s since become one of Britain’s fastest-growing beauty businesses.

Today, P. Louise Cosmetics has a range of over 1,000 products, employs more than 160 people and has expanded into Boots stores and a two-floor retail destination at Trafford Palazzo in Manchester. In the year to March 2026, the company reported revenue of £111m.

As Living360’s September digital cover star, the P. Louise founder, CEO and creative director gets candid with deputy lifestyle editor Evelyn Richards about her humble beginnings and the ambition behind her extraordinary success.

Dive into an excerpt below:

“Sorry if I look a mess,” Paige says, taking a seat in her pink-drenched office. “I’ve just got back from holiday. It was my second in nine years.”

She doesn’t look a mess. Instead, she looks perfectly at home in the fantastical world she’s created. For those unfamiliar with the P. Louise universe, imagine the Barbie Dreamhouse by way of Willy Wonka. There are products disguised as storybooks, milkshakes and confectionery, and physical spaces in Greater Manchester that are part beauty shop, part theme park.

“I genuinely don’t want to do anything but work,” she says. “It’s what brings me joy and peace. I try to keep Sundays for my family, but I’m sometimes on my phone during Sunday lunch. Even on holiday, I was coordinating things from my sunlounger.”

Raised on a council estate in Droylsden, Greater Manchester, Paige grew up knowing what it meant to go without. Her mother was just 15 when she had her, and a family day out often meant doing the weekly shop at Asda.

“When you come from nothing, you’re not afraid to go back there,” Paige says. “If I lost everything tomorrow, I know I could build something again.”

That childhood shaped both her formidable work ethic and the fantastical P. Louise world. Its immersive retail spaces are designed to offer families an experience, regardless of whether they buy anything.

“I couldn’t afford theme parks or big days out growing up,” she explains. “I wanted to create somewhere parents like my mum could bring their children without having to spend a penny.”

Fresh appetites: National GeographicƵler(UK) revamps its food newsletter strategy /national-geographic-traveller-uk-revamps-its-food-newsletter-strategy/ Tue, 08 Sep 2026 09:45:00 +0000 /?p=14981 National Geographic Ƶler (UK) has unveiled a fresh content strategy and new look for its biweekly food newsletter, sharpening its focus on food-led travel for an engaged digital audience.

Introduced in August 2026, the revamped approach gives food themes a more focused, digital-first treatment. Covering everything from curated lists and restaurant recommendations to dedicated content spotlights, new design elements have also been introduced to translate the magazine’s storytelling into a newsletter-first format.

The strategy combines curated deep-dives and editor picks with more timely content responding to seasons, trends and news, alongside formats designed specifically for digital consumption, including moving imagery and easily shareable recommendations.

Berkok Yüksel, the magazine’s senior content strategist, said: “Consistently strong engagement with food content across our newsletters pointed us towards a distinct and highly engaged audience for culinary travel. This new strategy serves that food-savvy community more deliberately, putting food-led travel at the centre and allowing us to respond more quickly to seasons, trends and news.”

While past editions have included campaigns on Italy’s culinary islands as well as an immersive tour of Somerset’s cider culture, upcoming newsletters will focus, variously, on pickles and the Mid-Autumn Festival’s mooncakes.

Anita Rani to receive Special Contribution Award at Ƶ Media Awards 2026 /anita-rani-to-receive-special-contribution-award-at-travel-media-awards-2026/ Thu, 03 Sep 2026 11:41:25 +0000 /?p=14974 Broadcaster, author and UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador Anita Rani will receive the Special Contribution Award at this year’s Ƶ Media Awards, held at The Savoy on Monday 26 October.

The award recognises someone who has made a significant contribution to travel storytelling — on screen, on air or in print — and this year’s judges were unanimous in their decision.

Rani is known to millions through BBC Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour, which she presents every Thursday and Friday, and more than a decade fronting BBC One’s Countryfile. In 2025, audiences saw a different side to her in Celebrity Race Across the World, where she travelled with her father, Bal, across the Caribbean and Colombia. Rani has since spoken about what those five weeks meant to her, calling it a privilege to share them with her dad, given that proper holidays were never part of a childhood built around her parents’ work ethic.

Ƶ runs through the rest of her career, too. As an ambassador for Discover the World she’s reported from Iceland, the Arctic and Costa Rica and, as a UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador she’s travelled to Kyrgyzstan to meet stateless families and narrated Forced to Flee, a podcast told entirely in the words of displaced people, which went on to win a Webby Award. She’s also Chancellor of the University of Bradford and is The Sunday Times bestselling author of The Right Sort of Girl.

In 2025, Rani launched her YouTube channel, ItsAnitaRani, followed in 2026 by Sisters of Defiance, her acclaimed video and audio podcast celebrating extraordinary women and the stories behind their success. The first series featured guests including Dame Meera Syal, Emma Grede, Gisèle Pelicot, Beverley Knight and Anoushka Shankar, reaching number one in two Apple podcast categories and earning a place on The Guardian’s Best Podcasts of 2026 So Far. Following the success of its debut series, Sisters of Defiance will return for a second season later this year.

Rani said: “Ƶ broadens your horizons, opens your mind and humbles you. Seeing the world from different perspectives, breathtaking landscapes, bustling cities, tasting new flavours, meeting people from other cultures and hearing stories, you see that there’s so much to learn and enjoy and how humanity is the same wherever you go. I’m incredibly privileged to have travelled as much as I have and I have no intention to stop. Where are we off to next?”

Anthony Leyens, chairman of Ƶ Media, said: “We’re delighted to honour Anita Rani with the Special Contribution Award at the Ƶ Media Awards 2026. Through her broadcasting, writing and humanitarian work, Anita has brought people, places and cultures to life with warmth, intelligence and curiosity. We very much look forward to celebrating her achievements at The Savoy in October.”

The Special Contribution Award will be presented on the night at The Savoy, alongside the winners of this year’s Ƶ Media Awards categories, chosen from hundreds of submissions across national and international travel journalism.

Tickets for the Ƶ Media Awards 2026 go on sale today, with early bird pricing of £125 available until 22 September, rising to £150 from 23 September. The shortlist will be announced on 9 September.

TMAStep Up 2026: eight weeks, 10placements and new opportunities /tma-step-up-2026-eight-weeks-10-placements-and-new-opportunities/ Thu, 03 Sep 2026 09:47:54 +0000 /?p=14967 Eight weeks, 10 placements and a wealth of new experience: the 2026 Ƶ Media Awards Step Up internship has completed another successful year, giving five emerging talents the opportunity to gain hands-on experience across the travel media industry.

Each intern spent four weeks with two different partner organisations, working across editorial, journalism, PR, marketing and communications. Along the way, they’ve built portfolios, developed professional networks, grown in confidence and gained valuable insight into where a career in travel media could take them.

And for some members of the cohort, that next step has already arrived: Ayse Avan has been offered a full-time position as digital and social executive at Kuoni and Dharshinee Krishna Naidu has secured a full-time position as an assistant account executive at FINN Partners, following their respective placements.

The programme continues beyond the eight-week internship. Each participant can now access six months of mentoring from one of the professionals they worked with and will attend the Ƶ Media Awards 2026 at The Savoy in October — another opportunity to build connections with editors, writers, photographers, PR professionals, tourism boards and others from across the industry.

What did the 2026 Step Up interns say about the scheme

Ayse Avan interned at Food and Ƶ and Kuoni

“I loved getting to see the behind-the-scenes of the publishing industry. I really feel like I contributed to the team’s day-to-day tasks and their support really helped me to keep improving my editorial skills and build a portfolio. Following my placements, I was pursuing a role at Kuoni and am pleased to announce that I have been offered the role of digital and social executive!”

Nasreen Gordon interned at Intrepid Ƶ and Living360

“I’ve learned so much from the editors and their feedback has really helped me grow as a writer. I feel much more confident in my abilities and I’m excited to use the skills I’ve acquired during this internship throughout my journalism career.”

Dharshinee Krishna Naidu interned at FINN Partners and The Sun

“The last eight weeks have shown me where my interests lie and the variety in this industry. I have developed a portfolio of my published pieces that I am really proud of, and I am continuing in a full-time position at FINN Partners as an assistant account executive. I’m so grateful for Step Up and how this scheme has truly changed my life for the better.”

Applications for the 2027 TMA Step Up internship will open at the end of the year, offering another five talented individuals the opportunity to take part in the programme.

For anyone considering applying, it’s crucial to stay connected. Subscribe to the TMA Step Up newsletter and follow TMA Step Up on social media for updates on the 2027 programme, including application dates and advice for prospective applicants.

As part of Living360’s new digital cover star series, launched in March 2026, Katie Sipp-Hurley met with the content creator to find out how she turned a kitchen hobby into a burgeoning career.

Dive into an excerpt below:

Cooking was always central to Remi’s family life, and learning to cook was simply a part of growing up. “When you’re an African daughter, you have to know how to cook,” she says. “Everyone has to care about food.”

But it was what she didn’t cook at home that really captured her imagination.

“We never baked at home, so I was intrigued by it,” she says. “I’d watch the Food Network and all the baking competitions and think it looked so fun — so I started experimenting.”

Perhaps it’s this combination of familiar home cooking and playful experimentation that’s made her content resonate so widely. By May 2023, she’d reached 100,000 followers on Instagram. Little did she know that, only a couple of years later, she’d have gained 700,000 more.

“I think that might be what makes people trust me,” she says. “I’m not professionally trained; I’m just a normal girl who likes to cook and bake.”

Ƶ Media Awards Step Up intern focus weekfive:RutaleeBuch /travel-media-awards-step-up-intern-focus-week-five-rutalee-buch/ Tue, 18 Aug 2026 15:07:26 +0000 /?p=14945 The final TMA Step Up intern spotlight turns to Rutalee Buch, who has completed her four-week placement with Ƶ Media and is in her third week at easyJet Holidays

At Ƶ Media, Rutalee worked with the National Geographic Ƶler (UK) editorial, design and digital teams to gain an understanding of the magazine’s processes. As well as research and advertorial tasks, she worked on her first print byline, which is set to come out in the October issue. During her time there, she learnt about the importance of following the publishing house’s editorial style and how this has an impact on pitching to different publications, which is a key feature in editorial work. A highlight of this placement was attending a PR event with the Southern Italy Tourism Board, where she could network with industry professionals.

The second phase of Rutalee’s internship took her to the in-house PR team at easyJet Holidays. This placement has given her key insight into how different sides of the media industry work together. Adapting to a faster paced environment and a larger team, she was already writing press releases by the second day. She worked on internal communication on segments such as Daily News that go out to the wider company, and she planned and drafted LinkedIn posts; in the coming weeks, this work will include learning about screen design and graphics. Rutalee has also learnt how to adapt a press release for a Generative Engine Optimisation (GEO) style, expanding her range of writing to meet different aims.

Rutalee said: “Working with Ƶ Media and easyJet holidays has been an invaluable experience. Coming straight out of university, I’ve found the internship to be an incredible introduction to the travel media industry and how it works. Everyone has been welcoming and they’ve offered lots of advice for getting started —&Բ;be it freelance or in-house. Getting to experience the differences between how PRs and journalists work has not only broadened my writing skills (GEO, SEO, print media and news segments) but also taught me how to adapt to new environments and transfer skills and knowledge that I’ve learnt elsewhere.”

This concludes the updates from this year’s five interns. Subscribe to the TMA Step Up newsletter for updates on the 2027 programme and applications, which open later this year.
